A SCHOOL chef from Warrington will be among the 10 finalists bidding for the title “School Chef of the year” title at Stratford upon Avon on Thursday, March 8
Justyna Rutkowska, a chef at Birchwood CE Primary School, has won through to the final of the competition, organised by LACA, the Lead Association for Catering in Education.
In addition to the kudos of winning the title, Justyna will be up for the chance of receiving a £1,000 cash prize, a trophy, commemorative plaque, a work experience trip and an invitation to a calendar of high profile catering industry engagements between over the next two years.
The second and third place chefs will receive a cash prize of £500 and £300 respectively.
Despite the significant improvements that have taken place within school catering across Britain over the last decade, the Ccmpetition is just as important now as ever before. Its key aims are to show to parents the high quality of school meals today and the contribution they not only make to the health and wellbeing of their children but also their physical and educational attainment.
