CCTV images released following robbery of 10 snakes

Detectives investigating a robbery at a pet shop in Warrington have released CCTV images of two men they would like to speak to in relation to the incident.

At approximately 5pm on Thursday January 11 two men entered a pet shop on Lovely Lane, Warrington. After several minutes inside the store they reached into a display case and stole several boxes containing 10 snakes.

As they attempted to leave the store they were disturbed by a member of staff and they pushed her to the ground before running away down Lovely Lane to and getting in to an awaiting vehicle.

The suspects then sped off and abandoned the car close by. The snakes have since been recovered and returned to the pet shop.

Detective Constable Carl Davis, of Warrington CID, said: “Enquires in relation to this incident are ongoing and as part of my investigation I’m keen to speak to the men featured in the CCTV image as I believe that they may hold vital information in relation to the investigation.

“Investigations suggest that the men may be from the Liverpool area. I urge the men, or anyone who recognises them, to contact the team here at Warrington on 101.”

Anyone who recognises the man, or anyone with any information in relation to the incident, is asked to contact 101 quoting incident 560 of 11 January. Information can also be passed on anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

An 18-year-old man was arrested at the time of the incident on suspicion of robbery and possession of a Class B drug remains released under investigation.
