Firefighters tackle industrial blaze

FIREFIGHTERS were called to tackle a blaze in an industrial building on Thelwall Lane, Warrington, shortly before 9am this morning (Wednesday.)

Four Fire crews from Warrington, Birchwood, Penketh and Lymm were called to tackle fire in a hopper inside the building at the Novelis recycling centre near Latchford locks.

Firefighters are currently tackling the blaze wearing two breathing apparatus and hose reel jets.

Motorists were advised to avoid the area and it is believed everyone was safely evacuated from the building.
