LYMM Runners have presented their fellow club member Graham Chilton with a £200 cheque towards his fundraising on behalf of the mental health charity Mind.

Last November, Graham completed the tough 40 miles of the Warrington Way Ultra Marathon in an outstanding time of 8 hours and 30 minutes. He was running to raise money for Mind in memory of his wife, also a Lymm Runner, who lost her battle with depression in 2016. So far he has raised over £2,700.

Lymm Runners have a strong awareness of the benefits running can have on mental wellbeing and each year hold a Run and Talk event during Mental Health Week in October where members and non-members are invited to come along for a run and talk about how running makes them feel.

The Warrington Way 40 mile Ultra Marathon is held in November and 2018 will be its 4th year. It attracts several hundred individual Ultra runners and relay teams from the North of England and is popular due to the friendliness of the race and the beautiful scenery on the route.

Lymm Runners meet outside the leisure centre on Thursdays at 7pm, and outside the Library on Sundays at 8.30 am and Wednesdays at 9.15am.
