STUDENTS at Warrington’s Priestley College were given an insight into the world of professional theatre during a masterclass with Alan Pattison, head of acting, at Liverpool Theatre School.
During the interactive workshops, students had the chance to put their performing skills to the test. They were also offered tips and advice on how to follow in the footsteps of Warrington actor, Oliver Ormson.
The successful stage actor, who studied at Priestley College before completing a Diploma in Musical Theatre at Liverpool Theatre School, has recently starred in The Addams Family tour and has appeared in The Book of Mormon in the West End.
Sarah Graham, head of Performing Arts and Media at Priestley, said: “It was a real pleasure to have Liverpool Theatre School with us.. The session was full of energy and provided some real inspiration for students who are considering pursuing a career on the stage.
Mr Pattison added: “It was great to see so much passion and enthusiasm for theatre among the students we met at Priestley College.
“As an important part of our commitment to nurturing young talent and encouraging stars of the future, I hope the session will help inspire students to take the next step towards achieving their ambitions on the stage.”
More than 90 percent of Liverpool Theatre School graduates have gone on to achieve success in theatre or further education. Visit www.liverpooltheatreschool.co.uk for further information.
