Death of former Mayor Roy Humphreys

FORMER Mayor of Warrington Roy Humphreys has died over the weekend – he would have been 75 next week.

He was Mayor of Warrington from 1997-98 and was well-known  the Longford and Latchford areas. He died at the Royal Liverpool hospital where he was being treated for ill health.

Former Labour colleague Mike Hannon described Roy as a “true friend and former colleague who would be sadly missed.”

Family and friends have been leaving tributes to the popular character on social media.
