The Culcheth Players (originally Culcheth Arts Society) formed in 1958 and is a section of the Culcheth Sports Club (Daten).

They have in the past had many of the Cheshire Theatre Guild’s nominations and awards for the quality of productions over the years. These awards have been gained in various categories for both the “acting” and “non acting” aspects of our work.

Productions enjoy the use of the 200 seat Main Hall at Culcheth Sports Club. This has a stage with both lighting and sound facilities.

Each Season the drama group presents three plays, a panto in February and then a show in June and also October. Regular weekly meetings and/or rehearsal nights are every Monday night in the Main Hall from 8-00pm to 10-00pm.

The Players productions are varied and include period plays, drama, whodunnit and comedy.

Genie and Secretary, Sue Rogers said “ We are always looking for new members, both acting and non acting, since there is much to be done “behind the scenes” as well as on stage.”

“Our small drama group relys on the support of the local community and anyone interested in joining is welcome.”
