All We Want For Christmas is for everyone to stay safe – Cheshire Police

Cheshire Constabulary’s ‘All We Want For Christmas’ campaign has hit the road with an original animated road safety message and a naughty list.

A joint road safety presentation from Cheshire Police and Cheshire Fire sees Father Christmas and his enduring elf take to the skies on Christmas Eve only to realise they’re missing a reindeer. The tale, Elf on the (parcel) Shelf, can be seen on both the emergency services’ websites and on social media from Friday December 1.

Father Christmas, recognising the Force’s commitment to being here for justice, also takes the driving seat to help officers trace some of the county’s most prolific offenders.

As part of the Constabulary’s ‘All We Want For Christmas’ campaign, Father Christmas kindly agreed to take part in a series of videos appealing for the whereabouts of offenders and suspects who continue to evade police, urging them to face up to their actions.

Over the next few weeks, the videos will appear on the Constabulary’s social media channels and feature the faces of those on his ‘Naughty List’. It is hoped that people will recognise these people, and provide vital information to officers.

The videos will be posted on the Constabulary’s Facebook and Twitter pages, while the ‘naughty list’ will also be placed on the Constabulary’s website.

Superintendent Julie Westgate, who is overseeing Christmas operations, said: “We regularly appeal to the public for information that can help us as we try to track down our most prolific offenders who seem determined to evade us. At this time of year, thieves are doing their own brand of shopping too.

“Although there is a ‘cartoon’ element running through the initiative, there is a serious message behind the naughty list campaign. Individuals who try to evade the courts are denying victims their chance to see justice done and this can often leave many of those affected by crime unable to move on with their lives.

“We remain committed in our pursuit of those who believe they are above the law – and ensuring they are held to account for the crimes they have committed.”

‘The Elf on the (parcel) Shelf’ and the ‘Naughty List’ mark the launch of the Constabulary’s festive campaign. Other areas that will be covered over the coming weeks include serious acquisitive crime (robbery, burglary, car crime etc), public space violence, drink-driving, cyber-crime and domestic violence.
