Police officer assaulted and cell damaged

A man arrested for being drunk and disorderly allegedly assaulted a police officer and damaged a cell at Warrington police station during the early hours of today.

The incident took place at 1:40 when a male was arrested  in the town centre for allegations of drunk and disorderly, police assault, possession of a Class B controlled drug and damage to a  police cell.

In another incident two males were arrested at 3:40 for allegations of threatening behaviour after they were alleged to be fighting in the town centre area.
