A family left devastated by a blaze which ripped through their home during the early hours of Saturday morning have been overwhelmed by the messages of support they have received from the Lymm community.

Pete Taylor who lives at the property in Lymm with his wife Kirsty and their three children said: “We have been overwhelmed by all the support we have had from everybody after our house fire yesterday.

“We have had so many lovely messages and phone calls offering support, I’m sorry if we haven’t come back to you yet.

“We are devastated as we have lost things that are very personal and cannot be replaced but we are positive that everything will be ok.
“We are very lucky to live in Lymm.”

Mr Taylor also thanked the 30 plus fire officers from Warrington, Lymm and Greater Manchester who tackled the blaze

The blaze was in Lymmhay Lane, off Danebank Road, shortly after 6am and virtually destroyed the roof of the bungalow.

It is believed the fire was started by the extractor fan in the bathroom.

The family are currently staying in Lymm with other family members but will probably look to rent in the area for 12 months while their home is re-built.

Mr Taylor added that the family did not require any financial support but wre just grateful to received well wishes from the community.
