Bungalow wrecked in early morning blaze

A SERIOUS fire caused extensive damage to a bungalow at Lymm early this morning.

The blaze was in Lymmhay Lane, off Danebank Road, shortly after 6am and virtually destroyed the roof of the property.

Fire crews from Stockton Heath and Lymm went to the scene and firefighters sealed off Lymmhay Lane while firefighting operations went on.

An aerial ladder platform was used as crews battled the flames.

The roof space of the property was badly damaged.

A fire service spokesman said the blaze was extinguished by 9.37am, but three fire engines and crews were still at the scene at 11.30am.

Investigations are on going to to ascertain the extent of the damage and the likely cause.

There were no reports of casualties but the property was left uninhabitable.
