ONE person was trapped after a three-car pile-up in Hollins Lane, Winwick, Warrington.
The crash occurred shortly before 10pm last night and fire and rescue crews were called to the scene.
They used cutting gear to remove the roof from one vehicle to enable a casualty to be extracted and then taken to hospital by paramedics.
Firefighters from Warrington and Greater Manchester were involved in the operation.
In another incident, firefighters from Warrington went to Greenwood Crescent, Orford where a fire involving timer spread to guttering on an outhouse. A hose reel jet was used to extinguish the blaze.
