HOMES and businesses across parts of Warrington have been affected by a power cut this evening.

SP Energy Networks have reported issues in the WA2 and WA5 areas of Warrington mainly impacting properties in the Besey area of town.

There have also been reports on social media of businesses and properties being affected in the Westbrook area, including Asda.

A number of people also reported their lights flickering on and off several times across various parts of the town.

Apologising for any inconvenience a spokesman for SP Energy Networks said: “Engineers are currently on site carrying out investigations to locate the cause of the fault affecting a significant number of customers in a widespread area.

“We expect power to be restored by 6.30pm.”
