A WARRINGTON teenager is to be quizzed by police following the theft of a charity box at Bank Quay Station after being identified by CCTV images following a public appeal.

British Transport police are no longer appealing for information to identify the young man shown in CCTV images in relation to the theft of the charity box at Warrington Bank Quay station.

An appeal for information was issued this week, and since then a 19-year-old man from the Warrington area has been identified to police and will be interviewed in due course.

The investigation, which is ongoing, relates to an incident on Thursday, 12 October, when the charity box was removed from a waiting room at the station.

Police have now removed the CCTV image from their website and thanked the media and public for their assistance.
