WARRINGTON Rotary Club’s annual Oktoberfest Beer Festival has come of age as it celebrates its 21st anniversary.

Launched on Thursday at the town’s Parr Hall, the event continues today (Saturday).

The event has helped raise over £260,000 much needed funds for a number of charities and good causes at home and abroad over the past two decades.

As well as numerous real ales and bottle beers there is now also a special Prosecco and Gin Bar. There is also live music at each session.

This year’s event was extra special as well known local journalist David Skentelbery celebrated his 80th birthday at the launch night.

Meanwhile local photographer Paul Jackson, presented warrington-worldwide Editor Gary Skentelbery with his photograph which featured in this year’s Film Noir exhibition, which toured the town’s libraries.
