VIDEO: WARRINGTON South MP Faisal Rashid made a special visit to the town’s historic Warrington Club where he was welcomed as an honourary member.
Founded in 1876, The Warrington Club is one of the town’s few remaining traditional establishments and was created by leading Victorian industrialists, statesmen and professionals for the sole purpose of providing a venue where members could meet on a regular basis in comfortable surroundings to enjoy each others company and meaningful conversation.
Faisal was welcomed by Chairman Tony Lennon, and following lunch gave a brief outline on his recent experiences as a new MP.
He promised to represent all his constituents to the best of his ability and said his ambition was to be “the best MP the town has ever had!”
During his speech Faisal was overlooked by a portrait of former Prime Minister Winston Churchill!
Faisal talked about the challenges being faced in his constituency, including the Council’s preferred Local Plan and the Western Link.
He also talked about his proposed open surgeries where constituents would be welcome to visit and raise their issues.
With the Warrington Club moving into the 21st century Faisal’s visit was broadcast live on social media by www.warrington-worldwide.co.uk
