FIRE crews were called to Latchford after a fire was reported in an underpass beneath a former railway line.
The blaze was in the tunnel off Kingsway South and firefighters from Birchwood were sent to the scene last night.
They used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
In an earlier incident, a crew was sent to Warrington Hospital after a patient became trapped in a lift. They opened the lift door manually to release the patient.
