Firefighters tackle fish and chip shop blaze

A fire at a fish and chip shop resulted in the closure of Old Liverpool Road, Warrington, this afternoon.

Two Fire crews from Birchwood and Lymm were called to tackle the fire at the Trawlerman fish and chip shop which was well alight at 15.44.

Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used one hose reel and a water jet to fight the fire. Police were in attendance to manage traffic.

The road has since reopened.
