WARRINGTON Town returned to the top of the league table with an impressive 4-2 victory over Farsley Celtic.

In a closely fought contest Warrington took the lead on 27 minutes when a Sanogo cross was headed home by Gray.

But Farsley were soon on level terms from the penalty spot when McCarten fouled Walshaw, who then converted.

Warrington were back in front before the break as Vassallo set up Hughes who slotted the ball home to make it 2-1 at half-time.

In a lively start to the second half Sanogo hit the post for Town before Gray extended the lead with his second of the day as he fired the ball into the bottom left corner from the edge of the box to make it 3-1.

But the visitors again hit back through Walker to set up a thrilling final quarter.

In a tense finish Warrington eventually made sure of the spoils with a penalty, converted by Williams in added time.
