Laura – the runaway bride!

IT was a double celebration for Laura Stevenson, a member of Lymm Runners.
She took part in her 50th Park Run – on her Wedding Day!
Laura, a member of the running club for four years, chose to mark both occasions at the Warrington Park Run, escorted by more than 40 of her clubmates.
For her pre nuptial 50th run Laura chose a knee length white satin gown with lace detail at the neck and a giant bow feature at the waist.
Her accessories included a white veil, a small bouquet of red and blue silk flowers, three helium balloons – and, of course, a pair of running shoes!
Her Lymm Runners entourage (plus two children and a dog) wore their distinctive green running vests with a choice of either shorts or lycra leggings.
Laura was cheered and applauded around the 5km course in Victoria Park by spectators and the Warrington Park Run Volunteers and crossed the finishing line through a Lymm Runners “Guard of Honour”.
She said: “It absolutely was the ‘Best Parkrun Ever’ and I am lucky to have such amazing friends and be part of such a great running Club.”
After the traditional group photo taken on the playing fields, the happy bride departed to prepare for the nuptials proper at Bowdon.
Warrington Park Run takes place every Saturday at Victoria Park at 9am. More details can be found at http://www.parkrun.org.uk/warrington/
