WARRINGTON Town will face Hyde United at home in the next round of the FA Cup on Saturday September 16.

Paul Carden’s men successfully navigated their first qualifying round tie against Grimsby Borough at the weekend, winning 1-0 thanks to Aboubacar Sanogo’s second half header.

It was the Yellows’ first win in the competition since the famous 1-0 win over Exeter City in the first round proper back in 2014, live on BBC Sport.

They were beaten 3-2 by Abbey Hey at the first stage in 2015 and then last were beaten by Workington, again at the first hurdle.

Hyde currently play a level below Warrington in the Evo-Stik League First Division North, but were in the Conference (now National League) as recently as 2014.

The Yellows are next in action tomorrow night, Tuesday, when they travel to Workington looking to maintain their position at the top of the Evo-Stik League table.
