SOCCER legend Graeme Sharp, paid a visit to Warrington to teach young players some Premier League skills.
The former Everton striker made an appearance at a new soccer camp at Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub, which was attended by 75 children.
Sharp – who played for the club between 1980 and 1991 – is the toffees’ second best goal scorer ever, with only Dixie Dean netting more than his 159 goals.
The one-day camp was run by Everton in the Community, in partnership with LiveWire, and it offered youngsters the chance to enhance their skills and learn new techniques.
It was run by trained coaches from Everton, who taught the same skills and techniques used by Blues’ stars Leighton Baines and Wayne Rooney.
Activities on offer included footballer style warm-ups, skills sessions, small-sided games and penalty competitions.
The school soccer camps have been running for a number of years across Merseyside and North Wales, but this was the first time an Everton camp had been held in Warrington.
Locklynne Hall, business development director at LiveWire, said: “It was great to have Graeme Sharp attend our first soccer camp at Orford Hub.
“The children and parents were really pleased to meet one of the Blues’ most legendary players.
“The one-day camp was a huge success and we hope to be able to extend it to four more of our sites in the future.”
