A “LADIES Day” in the garden at Linda Miller’s home in Winwick raised £503 for charity group Kitten Karers.
Thirty women attended the event and a highlight of the day was a competition for the three best dressed ladies.
Winners were 1, Lily Gray, from Glazebrook, 2, Jill Wood, from Winwick and 3, Amy Worthington, from Penketh.
Shopkeepers in Culcheth also contributed to the day by buying raffle tickets.
Kitten Karers is a small charity dedicated to rescuing cats and kittens. It is entirely self-funding and is always on the lookout for loving homes for its feline friends.
In addition to the Ladies Day, the group organises a Christmas tea party and runs a tombola stall at Winwick Carnival to raise funds.
The charity, which has a shop in St Helens, can be contacted on 01744 735231 or on 07725858282.
