Miracle escape for Lymm couple

A LYMM couple had a miraculous escape when a large tree branch fell on their home during the night.

Alan and Su Williams were asleep in bed when a large branch from an Oak tree in their garden fell on their cottage off Whitbarrow Road, Lymm.

The tree, which appeared healthy and was in full leaf, had a rotten branch which had filled with rain water.

Alan said: “We had a bit of a shock when we pulled back the curtains this morning!”

“Miraculously no-one was hurt and hopefully there is no major structural damage.”

Alan recalls “hearing a noise in the night” but turned over and went back to sleep.
