2

A traveller encampment has vacated land at Valiant Park, Padgate – but two other encampments have been set up on private land in two other parts of Warrington.

An encampment of five caravans and associated vehicles arrived on private Land at Sonova House, Centre Park, Warrington, last night.

Warrington Borough Council’s Gypsy and Traveller Support Officer is liaising with the landowners who are in the process of employing bailiffs to deal with the eviction.

Meanwhile another encampment comprising two caravans and associated vehicles has arrived on private land at Europa Boulevard.

The council has again liaised with the landowner who is in the process of instructing bailiffs to deal with the eviction of the encampment.

It is not known if any of the travellers are connected with the ones which left Padgate.

  1. It should be known if they’re connected. Somebody in authority will have had dealings with them. The well known “welfare checks” workaround must surely have names and details, or is that just a smokescreen to hide behind?

Why can’t they be escorted off the site once the paperwork was done and followed to stop them setting up on the other side of town? Police forces should work together and let the neighbouring towns know which way they are heading. It can’t be too difficult can it?

    • I completely agree with all that and many have said similar over the past year….but regardless of what we all see as a logical way of dealing with the situation those ‘in power’ still don’t seem blinkered or maybe they simply don’t want to do it that way as they might be judged as being ‘racist’ towards a ‘minority group’. It’s bonkers !!!
Surely the police and council would save a lot of money, resources and time if they just got a backbones and said…this IS how we are doing it from now on. Illegal encampments on private or council owned land are just that ILLEGAL…so bugger off. and buy your own field somewhere. I believe Ireland is very nice 😉
