How a “selfie” can win three-months free bus travel

COMMUTERS in Warrington have the chance of winning a three-month bus pass – by taking a selfie of themselves on a bus.
It’s national “Catch the Bus Week” – and Network Warrington is celebrating the benefits of getting the bus as part of the initiative.
Bus travellers who
photograph themselves on a bus can enter the competition by tweeting their pictures to @WarringtonBuses or emailing them to [email protected]
Almost 2.5 million people across the UK travel to work by bus every day and for many, the bus is an accessible, important form of transport.
Ben Wakerley, managing director at Network Warrington, said: “Catch the Bus Week is a timely reminder of the value and importance of public transport and we are using this week to celebrate the six million passengers we carry each year.
“It’s also important to acknowledge the positive green impact our buses make. We first introduced electric hybrid buses in 2011 and remain committed to helping lower carbon emissions in Warrington. If we all switched one journey a month from car to bus, we would save up to two million tonnes of carbon dioxide each year nationally.”
The winning photograph will be chosen at random on Monday July 10. Full instructions of how to redeem the three month pass will be provided to the winner once selected.
