Fire started close to Westy Community Centre

FIREFIGHTERS were called out to deal with a fire which was started close to Westy Community Centre on Bridgewater Avenue.

Two fire crews, one form Stockton Heath and one from Warrington were called out to deal with the fire close to Westy Community Centre at 19.38pm.

Firefighters used a hose reel jet to extinguish a fire that was very close to the community centre.

In another incident a fire is believed to have been deliberately started next to a bridge on a footpath off Cromwell Avenue to rear of Rutter Avenue, Warrington.

Firefighters used handheld fire extinguishers to deal with the small fire.

Firefighters believe the fire was started deliberately. Anyone with any information about this incident is urged to call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111 or Cheshire Police on 101.
