A NEW walking group has been set up at Warrington to get local people have fun outdoors and help reduce social isolation.
The borough council’s neighbourhoods in Warrington team are running the new walking group with the hope of encouraging more people to get out and about and keep active.
The first meeting of the “Whitecross Walkers” will take place on Monday  June, 12 at 9.30am for a 10am start, meeting at Whitecross Community Centre, Lexden Street, Warrington.
The walk will take around two hours to complete and will follow a route containing only flat paths so it will be suitable for people in wheelchairs or people with pushchairs.
It will be a low intensity walk, going at a leisurely pace through local beauty spots and green spaces. Dogs on leads are welcome to come along to join in the fun!
Refreshments will be provided at both the beginning and the end of the walk.
Future walks will then take place on the first Monday of each month with the next ones planned for Monday July 3 and Monday August 7.
