WARRINGTON Town’s academy side won the NPL FA Cup at the Bet365 Stadium, home of Premier League club Stoke City.
Prolific striker Euan Woods scored the only goal of the game as the Yellows beat Matlock Town 1-0.
It marks the first piece of silverware for academy chief Keith Southern, and comes in only the academy’s second year of existence.
End of an enjoyable year with my @theyellows academy side winning at @stokecity today. Big thanks to @ChairmanWTFC and everyone @NPLFA

The win also comes in the same week that club chairman Toby Macormac announced that the Yellows will run a second academy side from the start of the 2017/18 season.
Billy Whitehead had a couple of first half chances for Matlock, as the Yellows were restricted to a couple of long range efforts.
But 10 minutes in to the second half, Woods, who has appeared on the bench for the Yellows first team this season, broke the deadlock with a typically clinical finish.
Warrington were thankful to both the woodwork and goalkeeper Josh Wainwright, who pulled off a superb one handed save, to keep their lead intact.
Wainwright denied Ethan Knowles on a one-on-one 15 minutes from time, and ultimately the Yellows were able to hold on and claim victory.
