VANDALS are believed to have started a fire in a disused garage at Warrington.
Fire crews from Warrington and Penketh were called to Grappenhall Road following reports of a garage on fire.
They discovered a large quantity of rubbish had been piled up inside the building and was well alight.A hand-held extinguishers was used to douse the flames.
An investigation revealed that it was likely the fire had been started deliberately.
Anyone with information about how the fire started is asked to call police on 101 or the anonymous Crimestoppers hotline 0800 555 111.
In another incident, a crew from Stockton Heath fire station used an extinguisher to put out an unattended camp fire in woodland off Dingle Lane, Appleton.
