A SPONSORSHIP deal has been struck for Warrington’s showpiece Victoria Park Stadium and associated sport and leisure facilities.
The borough council has teamed up with sports clothing manufacturer ASICS.
Official naming of the the Victoria Park ASICS stadium will take place tomorrow (Saturday) at a ceremony between 10am and 11am.
The impressive, new, fully accessible stadium provides spectators and the community with a high quality, multi-purpose, facility. It includes changing rooms and showers, a 320-seat stand and a multi-function space for functions and events, with a balcony overlooking the new athletics track.
|It has been provided as part of a £4.5 million investment in the park to provide one of the top sporting facilities in the country.
The facilities will be open to the public and a number of sporting organisations including Warrington Wolves Foundation, Warrington Athletics Club, Warrington Park Run and LiveWire will be running taster sessions and answering questions.
ASICS will have a technical advisor on site with gait analysis and the latest speed trio range for people to try out on the track. There will also be goody bags available for the first 100 people to attend on the day.
Local athlete and #asics frontrunner Graham Green, a world-record breaker and the fastest Vet 50 runner over marathon distance will be officially opening the facilities alongside Deputy Mayor of Warrington, Cllr Les Morgan.
Everyone is welcome and refreshments will be available.
