Power failure causes traffic delays

POWER failure in the Bridge Foot area last night resulted in traffic delays during Warrington’s rush hour traffic this morning.

There were lengthy delays on Knutsford Road and Wilderspool Causeway caused by power failure to the lights on Brian Bevan Island caused by power failure to traffic lights.

The power was resumed at around 9 am this morning and the traffic lights are now back in sync.

  1. At 8:25am it took me approx 3 minutes to get from the island at Cockhedge to Chester Road, stopping briefly at the lights by DFS, there were no signs of any traffic delays from any direction as the traffic was flowing normally as it should do, there were not the usual tail backs over wilderspool bridge or on Chester road, here’s hoping to another power cut tonight!!
