Firefighters tackle shed blaze and wheelie bin arson

WARRINGTON firefighters tackled a shed fire at Stockton Heath last night which was threatening a neighbouring property and a deliberate wheelie bin blaze at Orford.

Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the shed blaze on Bridgewater Avenue, Stockton Heath, at around 8.15pm.

The fire involved a shed which was beginning to affect a neighbouring property. Firefighters used two hose reel jets to bring the blaze under control and protect adjacent houses.

They then used a thermal imaging camera to make sure there were no further hotspots.

Earlier in the evening four wheelie bins were deliberately set on fire in Merrick Close, Orford, with flames spreading to a fence and outbuilding.

Firefighters used a hose reel jet to bring the blaze under control.

Anyone with information about who may have started the blaze please call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111 or Cheshire Police on 101.

  1. Crikey there certainly seems to be a heck of a lot fires happening recently many of which are being reported as being intentional and the act of arsonists according to the emergency services. Here’s hoping that the people responsible are caught and dealt with severely regardless of age of reason for their stupid actions.

Forgive me if I’m wrong here and I’m happy to be corrected if I am but re the above Gary S…..isn’t Bridgewater Avenue on near Kingsway Bridge and in Latchford rather than in Stockton Heath as it is reported to be ?
