Man in hospital after being overcome by smoke in house fire

A MAN was taken to hospital at Warrington today after being overcome by smoke in a house fire.
The blaze was at a house in Henshall Avenue, Latchford shortly before 3.30pm.
Fire engines from Warrington and Penketh went to the scene and, initially, two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled a well-established fire in the kitchen ujsing a hose reel jet.
But the fire broke through to the first floor of the semi-detached house and two more firefighters wearing breathing apparatus were deployed, using hose reel jets.
Gas and electricity supplies were isolated.
The man was taken to hospital by ambulance and fire crews used a thermal imaging camera to check there were no further hot spots.
Cause of the fire has not been revealed.
