LYMM U18’s 36 KIRBY LONSDALE U18’s 11

LYMM Senior Colts defeated second placed Kirby Lonsdale yesterday to become Raging Bull Senior Conference “A” League champions.
For the club it completed a “double” as Lymm U17 Junior Colts had already won the Junior Conference “A” League” with a 15-8 victory over near neighbours Bowdon.
Lymm had already defeated Kirby Lonsdale 32 – 12 in the away fixture in early December and wanted to finish the league season in style before venturing into the County and League Cup games.
Because Lymm RFC were hosting the Cheshire v Lancashire U20’s match, the colts fixture was played at Moore RFC, who kindly offered the use of their facilities.
It proved to be a tough encounter with Lymm narrowly in the lead 12-6 at half-time, with tries from Ruaidhri Power and Lucas Titherington, Will Titherington kicking a conversion.
However, the second half was more productive for Lymm who worked hard as a team to secure back to back league titles. Further scores came from tries by Alex Hull, Matty Hand, plus a penalty try. Matty Hand also kicked two conversions with Will Titherington kicking a conversion and a penalty.
Squad: George Anderson, Joe Leyland, Luke Butler, Sam Bytheway, Alex Clouser, Luke Critchley, Joe Dowdeswell, Sam Drury, Luke Frampton, Evan Fray, Josh Hamer, Matty Hand, Ross Hodgkinson, Alex Hull, Abdul Khan, Fraser Kirkwood, James Longshaw, Lewis Mason, Jordan McGrath, James Metcalfe, Ollym Mullin, James Pitcher, Ruaidhri Power, Rory Riddell, Alex Stewart, Matty Thomas,Lucas Titherington, Will Titherington.
Lymm Junior Colts easily beat Durham City in the semi-final of the Northern Division of the RFU National Cup on Sunday March 12. They now play Bowdon or Keighley in the Northern Cup Final to be played at Crouchley Lane on March 26. If they win that match they will be into the last four of the National Cup – both semi-finals and final are to be played at neutral venues. Lymm is the only team from the North ever to have won the National U17 Cup.
The Senior Colts will be contesting the Raging Bull League Cup over the coming weeks – the draw has yet to be made though.
The Junior Colts will be playing their Cheshire Cup quarfter final at Caldy on Thursday March 30.  If successful they will then play the semi final at Winnington Park on Sunday April 2. The Senior Colts will play their semi8 final vs Wilmslow at Crouchley Lane on the same date.
Next Saturday Lymm 1st XV are at home against Ilkley, kick off 3pm.
There will also be a past players reunion buffet prior to the match at 1pm.
