SINGER Jessica Green was announced as the winner of Warrington’s Got Talent at a talent-packed live show at the Parr Hall.

The Mayor has thanked everyone who made the talent competition a great success, from his judging team to the acts themselves, the sponsors, and the supportive audience of over 700.

The judges had to make some tough decisions, with 20 fantastic acts taking to the stage on the night – but it was talented singer Jessica who bagged the top spot, winning £1,000.

Dance crew Evolve took second place, winning £600, with ballet dancers Impact scooping the third place prize of £400.

Mayor of Warrington, Cllr Faisal Rashid, who hosted the event, said: “It was an amazing night at Parr Hall. Warrington’s Got Talent really showcased the talent that this borough has.

“I am proud to have had so much support from the community on this initiative. It will be a fantastic legacy for me as Mayor if the event can continue, on this scale, for many years into the future – supporting, encouraging and celebrating our local talent.

“I would like to thank all those who submitted entries for the competition. The acts and their supporters really made this competition a joy to be involved with.”

The Mayor also thanked Taylor Business Park; Torus/Golden Gates Housing Trust and Helena Partnerships; and the University of Chester for sponsoring the competition.
