School extension plans approved

PLANS for a new, single-storey extension to the front of Lymm’s Statham Primary School have been given the green light by borough planning chiefs.
The project will provide a secure entrance and improved administrative facilities and additional car park, along with the removal of an existing, dis-used water tower.
There will be no increase in staffing, nor the number of pupils, but the car parking will increase from 14 to 17. Vehicle access to the site will remain unchanged.
The scheme will require the removal of one, poor quality tree and a section of hedgerow but it is not anticipated that the overall scheme will have any detrimental effect on nearby houses.
