Police launch appeal after woman assaulted during aggravated burglary

POLICE are appealing for information following an aggravated burglary involving an assault on a woman at an address on Hanover Street in Warrington.

The burglary took place at 9:50pm on Friday, February 3, when a man forced entry into the house and threatened the female occupant, assaulting her and fleeing the scene.

The victim did not suffer any serious injuries but was left shaken by the ordeal.

The offender is described as 5’10” tall, of slim build, in his early 20’s and wearing dark clothing. It is possible he was accompanied by another man.

PC Kartikay Agravat said: “I am keen to trace those responsible for the incident and I am urging anyone with any information that can help with our enquiries to contact police on 101, quoting incident number 978 of 3 February 2017.”
