Man of 95 charged with attempted murder

A 95-year-old man from Warrington is expected to appear before magistrates today charged with the attempted murder of a woman aged 88.
The man was arrested following an incident at a house in Dam Lane, Woolston, when the woman was rushed to hospital in Liverpool suffering from what were described as “serious injuries.”
The  house was sealed off by police on Saturday and offers remain at the scene.
The woman is being treated at Aintree Hospital. Her condition is still said to be “serious”.
