Husband, 95, remanded on attempted murder charge

A 95-year-old Warrington man appeared in court today charged with the attempted murder of his 88-year-old wife.
Denver Beddows, of Dam Lane, Woolston, was remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Crown Court next month when he appeared before magistrates at Chester.
He was charged with the attempted murder of Olive Beddows.
His court appearance follows an incident at their home on Saturday.
Mrs Beddows remains seriously ill in Aintree Hospital, Liverpool.
