Armed man tries to force way into house

POLICE are investigating after an armed man attempted to force his way into a house at Warrington late at night.
The incident was in Hanover Street shortly before 10pm on Friday night and police said the man tried to force entry to the house using a weapon.
He then made off in an unknown direction – and it is possible he was accompanied by another  man.
The man is described as in his early 20s, about 5ft 10 inches tall, of slim build and wearing dark clothing.
Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call police on 101 quoting incident 978 of 03/02/17.
