Appeal for witnesses following attempted robbery in Latchford

Officers in Warrington are urging witnesses to come forward following an attempted robbery in Latchford.

At approximately 10.00pm on Monday 23rd January the victim was walking along Wilderspool Causeway near the junction with Greenalls Avenue when he was approached by two men.

One man is believed to have assaulted the victim while the other has grabbed his bag in an attempt to steal it. The victim has managed to prevent the man from taking the bag and ran away from the offenders.

One of the men is described as being of a stocky build, 6ft 2 in height and wearing dark clothing with Nike trainers which had a white Nike tick. The man also had a red and black bandana covering his face.

The second man is described as 6ft and of a skinny build wearing black clothing and around 20 years of age.

Anyone who may have witnessed the assault or has any information is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting Incident 891 of 23rd January 2017.
