TWO men – one possibly armed with a handgun – got away with cash from a convenience store at Warrington.

The raid was at the One Stop Shop in North Cinnamon Lane, Cinnamon Brow yesterday (Wednesday around 10.20pm.

Police have today issued a blurred image of one of the offenders.

The men entered through the front door where one man remain while the other, possibly armed with the gun, approached the counter and threatened staff, demanding they open the till.

They handed over the money and the pair then fled.

One man was about 5ft 5 inches tall, wearing dark clothing and had his face covered, possibly with a dark balaclava.

The second man was about 5ft 3 inches tall, with a reddish, spotty complexion. This man was wearing a skeleton mask and was carrying a distinctive black Nike rucksack, with a large white tick.

The gun man was carrying the weapon in his left hand.

DC Ian Bingley said: “We take all incidents of this nature seriously and are doing all we can to trace the offenders. It has not been established whether the gun was real or imitation. The weapon was not discharged and no injuries were reported but staff, who were in the shop at the time, were understandably left very shaken by their ordeal.

“We’re currently following a number of enquiries in relation to the incident, including CCTV analysis and speaking to local residents.

“As part of the investigation I’m keen to hear from anyone who was in the Cinnamon Brow area at the time this incident occurred and believes that they may have seen anything suspicious. I urge anyone with any information to contact the team here at Warrington on 101.”

Anyone with any information in relation to the incident is urged to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 817 of 4/1/2017. Information can also be left anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

  1. That must be one of the worst cctv images I have ever seen. How are staff supposed to feel safe in their job or any possible raiders or theives identified and caught when the shops cctv system is so useless? It’s pointless having one at all if this is the best image quality it captures.
I hope the staff are ok, it must have been very frightening for them and it’s the second small convenience store to be raided in a week 🙁
