LIVE at St Wilfrid’s – the organisation that brings top-flight musicians to Warrington – has announced its programme for the coming year.
It includes classical, big band, songs from the shows and brass.
The programme opens on Thursday February 9 with international violin star Jennifer Pike, accompanied on piano by Tom Poster.
Since winning the BBC Young Musician of the Year competition when she was 12, Jennifer has taken the musical world by storm with her unique artistry and compelling insight into music from the Baroque to the present day. She is in demand as a soloist all over the world, so her appearance in Warrington is something of a coup.
Other concerts in the series include Australian born guitarist Craig Ogden, on March 11, Warrington’s own Centenary Theatre Company on April 20, the fiery Kosmos Ensemble bringing a blend of jazz, gypsy music, Greek melodies and Japanese, Polish and Sephardic songs on September 14 and the Swingshift Big Ban playing Glenn Miller and Frank Sinatra on October 12.
