Early morning kitchen fire

FIRE crews tackled a blaze at a house at Paddington, Warrington in the early hours of today.
The blaze was in the kitchen of a  house in Gordon Avenue and was discovered shortly before 3am.
Two fire engines from Warrington went to the scene and two crew members, wearing breathing apparatus, tackled the outbreak with a hose reel jet and a covering jet.
It is believed the fire started in an extractor fan.
A ventilation unit was used to clear smoke from the property.
In another incident, shortly before 9am, a fire engine from Birchwood went to Common Lane, Culcheth, in response to reports of a smell of burning.
They discovered the source was a faulty light fitting which they were able to isolate.
