Motorist surrounded by gang and threatened with knife

POLICE are investigating after a motorist was surrounded by a gang and threatened with a knife  at Great Sankey, Warrington.

The incident happened at approximately 4.20pm, yesterday, when officers were called to reports that a motorist and his partner had been confronted by a group of youths on Liverpool Road, Great Sankey.

The gang were stood in the road stopping the car from passing.

One of the youths then confronted the victim and, after pushing the youth away, the victim was then threatened with a knife.

The man’s partner was screaming and shouted that she had called the police causing the youths to flee.

Officers swiftly attended the incident but on arrival the youths had fled the scene. Searches of the local area were conducted by officers who were unable to locate the youths.

The youth who was carrying the knife is described as white, 16 – 20 years old; approximately 5ft 9 inches tall, of skinny build with a Warrington accent. At the time of the incident he was wearing a dark coloured baseball cap, a black jacket, dark trainers and black jogging bottoms.

All of the youths were described as wearing dark clothing at the time of the incident. Two of the youths were described as Asian whilst the remaining youths are all believed to be white.

  1. Good grief !! That must have been so very frightening. What on earth is happening to Warrington? You certainly don’t expect this sort of thing to happen especially at 4.20pm on a main road. I’m glad the gent and his partner are ok and I hope the idiots are caught and severely dealt with. Clearly with mentality like that and them thinking it’s acceptable to carry a knife and stand in a road confronting drivers (for what ever reason…did they want a car of something? ) it wont be long before do attack and injure someone else ‘for laughs’ or whatever reason they who stands up to them. Here’s hoping there is some CCTV round there or another driver had a dash cam camera and have caught their mugshots when they were in the area !!
