Neighbours fight plan for house with basement pool

NEIGHBOURS are opposing a plan for a four-bedroomed detached  house with a basement swimming pool in the garden of an existing house at Lymm.
The proposal comes before Warrington’s development management committee tonight with an officers’ recommendation for approval.
Lymm Parish Council is not objecting to the plan in Oughtrington Lane.
A report to be considered by the committee states that the proposed house would be built in the garden of an adjacent detached house – Lime Cottage. Access would be taken from a private access drive to the south of the site.  The existing house has parking and access onto Oughtrington Lane and this would be allocated to the new house.
The proposed house would have four bedrooms, linen store and bathroom at first floor level, kitchen, dining room, quiet room, family room, office, store and toilet on the ground floor and a swimming pool and changing facilities at basement level.
A single-storey garage would be demolished to make way for the development.
Ten neighbours have objected, with grounds including highway safety, a design not in keeping with the character of the area and an appearance resembling an industrial unit.
