MAYOR of Warrington Faisal Rashid has issued a festive invitation to the town’s vulnerable residents.
He is arranging a special Christmas meal at the Town hall for people who are elderly, vulnerable, living alone or homeless.
Cllr Rashid said: “Some members of our community can be forgotten or feel very alone during the festive season. This is an opportunity to reach out to them and help them make connections in a warm and friendly atmosphere.”
The festive meal will take place on Saturday, December 10, starting at 3pm to 5pm and both the Mayor and the Mayoress will welcome guests. Hot pot is on the menu along with vegetable curry and samosas provided by the Sikh Community.
Anyone who knows someone who would benefit from a hot meal and the opportunity to meet and chat with others, should contact Julia Pickering on 01925 442143 or email: [email protected], by December 6.
Places are available on a first come, first served basis.
The Mayor would like to be able to provide a small gift to those who attend the Christmas meal. If any local businesses or individuals are able to offer suitable small gifts, please also contact Julia Pickering.
