How potatoes can help the growth of Lymm Rugby Club

LYMM Rugby Club’s latest fundraising drive is providing the opportunity for you to buy your Christmas Potatoes from the club, based at Crouchley Lane.

Last year, the club raised more than £6,000 to purchase a new mower for the pitches, and this year’s proceeds will go towards the Lymm Grass Roots Clubhouse Appeal.

President John Hopkinson explained: “The quality of our potatoes is far superior to what is normally available in the supermarkets. The variety is Markies which can be used for mashing, roasting and chipping.

“We have a club member who grows 1,000 acres of potatoes and we get the best quality potatoes for cost, so we can effectively can take the margin a retailer would make but give customers even  better value.”

The cost is only £8 for 10kgs bags and can be purchased from any Lymm RFC member, from the Rugby, Hockey or Squash section or directly at the Club from Club Steward Rick Condo.

Orders are required before 11th December and bags can be picked up at the club on the following times and dates

Thursday 15th Dec, 2pm to 4pm
Friday 16th Dec, 7am to 10am
Saturday 17th Dec, 10am to 4pm
Sunday 18th Dec, 10am to 4 pm
