POLICE at Warrington today appealed for help from the public following the attempted abduction of a 35-year-old woman.
They are particularly anxious to talk to a passing motorist who went to her assistance during the incident on Saturday (November 19) in the early hours of the morning.
The woman was walking along Hallfields Road, Orford, towards Orford Green at the time.
She noticed a man leave Orford Park and approach a car parked further up the road.
The woman crossed to the other side of the road and as she passed the parked car, a second man got out of the driver’s side and offered her a lift home.
The woman politely declined and continued on her way.
She was then grabbed by the arm by the second man and fell to the ground.
She was then dragged backwards towards the car.
At this point, a passerby in a car stopped and asked the woman if she was OK.
The woman got to her feet and ran away – and the passerby spoke to one of the two men.
Police say the first man was of slim build, around 5ft 11 and wearing a grey hooded top with the hood up over his head.
The second man is believed to be in his 30s with dark skin, around 5 ft 8 in height, average build, clean shaven with short black wet hair and wearing a black leather jacket.
Officers are particularly keen to speak to the passerby who stopped and spoke to the victim and one of the men.
They would also like  to speak to anyone who may have been driving in the area at the time of the offence.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 321 of November 21.
Information can also be passed on anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
